Our manifesto

We believe that every child deserves to be seen and heard. That no young person should face their struggles alone.

When a young person struggles, it touches everyone around them. We're here not just for children and young people, but for their families, carers, and the professionals involved too. Because real change happens when everyone is supported.

We can't promise quick fixes – these things take time, and that's okay. What we can promise is this: we will be right here with you, a calm, steady presence, offering expert support and guidance as you take steps forward.

Through art when words feel hard to find.

Through play when feelings need space.

Through conversation when you're ready to talk.

We are more than just a service – we are a force for change and a haven of hope. There's always a way forward, and we'll find it together.

Sam (name changed to preserve anonymity) is a 6-year-old boy referred to YCT Support by his mother for anxiety which she believed to be linked to an early, unspecified trauma.

Lottie is a seven-year-old girl who was referred to our service by school for very low self-esteem (calling herself “a horrible and bad, bad girl”) who struggles to regulate her emotions and control her behaviour.

David, a 15-year-old boy, commenced therapy during the Autumn of 2023, as he was experiencing difficulties in focusing during lessons at school and having relationship difficulties at home with his brother.

Annie was offered support by YCT following referrals being received for her children and subsequently the potential for parent support being identified by the YCT team.

Early intervention changes lives and breaks cycles. By offering support early on, we're not only helping a child today – we're creating massive long-term benefit for society.
