YCT was recently delighted to learn that YCT Mentor, Ian Cook, was awarded Newcomer of the year at Safe Space’s Mentor Awards. After being nominated by his mentee, Ian was presented with his award virtually earlier this month by Hertfordshire County Council’s Head of Services for Young people, Andy Manson.

YCT has seen the positive impact mentoring has made to many of the young people who have accessed this service during the past year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Ian, Greg, Margo and Kim as well as the team at Safe Space in Hertfordshire for all of their hard work to ensure the young people who were referred to them were well supported. The difficulties of this year led to some creative thinking around support and there has been lots of walking in the park and telephone sessions but it is clear from the feedback from clients that it has been extremely appreciated and more beneficial than ever.
