Volunteering

Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity to support the provision of the emotional wellbeing of children and young people.

If you have a few spare hours and a skill to share, volunteering is an excellent way to connect with new people, learn something new, enhance your skills, and truly make a difference. Here are some ways you can contribute:

Fundraising

If you can't assist on a regular basis, consider hosting a one-off event! This could be anything from a cake sale or coffee morning to individual or group challenges—whatever you enjoy.

Copywriting

We need writers for newsletters and small campaigns.

Youth committee

If you're aged between 13 and 25 and want to join our Youth Panel, please email for more information.

If you're interested in helping with any of these please get in touch.

Student placements

We’re also interested in hearing from you about the following opportunities:

Placement opportunities

YCT offer supported placements to counselling and psychotherapy trainees.  If you are training to work with adults, we can provide up to 4 clients per week aged 18-25. If your course is specifically aimed at delivering therapy to children or adolescents, then we will support you to provide sessions to our clients aged under 18. Clinical Supervision is funded for 1.5 hours per month and some travel expenses are covered. In addition, students are provided with a clinically trained line manager and are given opportunities to take place in peer supervision groups.

Volunteer/placement opportunities

We welcome applications from trainee and qualified therapists willing to offer their time voluntarily to gain knowledge, skills, and experience in working with our client groups.

Everything said was something I needed to hear, seeing it from a different perspective was so helpful to understand my behaviour patterns.”
