YCT held another successful Annual Lecture on the 23rd February 2015.

Hosted by Harlow College in their University Centre (including their students providing and serving the canapés and drinks), YCT was delighted for its 2nd Annual Lecture to have Alison Cutler, manager of the Essex Safeguarding Children’s Board deliver an engaging speech on ‘Safeguarding Essex’s Children: Making a Difference Together’. Alison was open to questions from the audience after, and has also agreed to share her informative slides – please use the link below.

Further, Doug Brown was re-presented with the 2014 Lady Diana Kemp-Welch award for his outstanding and long running voluntary commitment to YCT. We were honoured to have Sir John Kemp-Welch himself attend the event who was then able to present the award in person, in memory of his wife Lady Diana who sadly passed away in 2013 but YCT intends to continue to remember through the prestigious annual award.

Speeches from Neil the Chair of Trustees and I completed, the formal side of the evening was over, however what I found to be of note was how long people stayed after, networking and chatting with colleagues, trustees, friends and supporters of the organisation.

For me, a very enjoyable, successful and educational evening, thank you for everyone who contributed.
