Background Information

YCT is a charity delivering therapeutic support to young people across Essex, Hertfordshire and North London.

Since 1988 YCT has enabled children and young people to work towards brighter, happier futures. It provides 1:1 counselling to 5-25 year olds plus therapeutic support such as self-esteem and anger management courses, drama/art therapy, Forest Schools, exam stress workshops and personal-development work. Much of this is delivered in education settings and 4 community based locations.

YCT offers bespoke and tailored training to professionals and young people, supervision and counselling to professionals and consultancy work. YCT continues to look for new ways to expand its services both geographically and in the range of services it offers and welcomes new partners to work alongside.

YCT has a reputation for being a quality organisation, highly regarded by its stakeholders, and one that has retained its friendly, warm and adaptive approach while constantly developing, growing and innovating. As an organisation YCT is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and all of the contracted counsellors and therapists it uses are accredited with the BACP or equivalent (or eligible to apply for accreditation within 6 months of starting with YCT).
